What is Yoga & Meditation

What Are They?

The word yoga literally means “union” or “to merge”. yoga is a science to determine the nature of what you are, and who you want to be more so than just a set of postures and exercises. There is current scientific research showing the very fundamentals of the brain’s activity, inner chemistry, and genetic predispositions can be changed by practicing certain yoga systems.

Yoga is basically the technology to shape who and what you are.

Yoga fundamentally looks at how to make a person flexible on all levels – whether it be on the level of the body, mind, emotions, or energy. The important thing is that this flexibility should come to every aspect of your life.

Meditation – not something one can do, but who one can be.

Being Meditative is a quality that can be achieved and perfected by bringing into harmony the body, mind, emotions, and energy to a higher level of preparedness. It draws a parallel between bracing up the body and the onset of spring, as both provide a suitable milieu for an unparalleled divinity of mind, body, and nature, to flourish and bloom.

What is the purpose of meditation?

In today’s world of self-entitlement, the boons of progress have acquired Utopian dimensions because of our inability to know the art of personal management. Everything else might seem to be in place, but human beings are displaced within themselves. As a result of this, becoming meditative takes the center stage. Very simply put, meditation’s purpose is, self-preservation in the failing world we have created. meditation is a type of “inner technology” that empowers the individual, to “engineer” their own system.

One might wonder why should we not let the body be, what is the need for “engineering” it. These are very reasonable questions, the answer to which is rather, simple. Our body is turning against us because we abuse it consciously and subconsciously. We do the same with our minds. The struggle to manage what we were born with cannot be sustained without learning the art of warfare. Do not underestimate your opponent: we are our own enemy here. Leaving the body and mind to their discretion is an act of both carelessness and irresponsibility.

Such carelessness has resulted in over 70% of human ailments being self-created worldwide. If we can create problems, So too we can create solutions. This is where meditation is a formidable tool.

Today, we identify with our physical being, and erroneously associate the inner longing for expansion with a physical expression that comes with a defined boundary- be it for love, knowledge, or wealth. All the while failing to realize that the very source of creation is within us.

If only a drop of knowledge of creation entered our lives, our life would flow magically, and not miserably.

The effects of meditation are said to be numerous, be it, as even documented by surveys: a more well balanced cardiac autonomous nervous system, an overall increase in heart rate visibility, better cardiac response during stressful situations, greater brain activity coherence and higher delta band power known to reflect a kind of sixth sense. Improved focus and attention spans, a better quality of sleep are other health perks among endless more.

Most importantly, meditation aligns the physical, mental and “pranic” body, so that an “overwhelming experience of joyfulness” will naturally transpire from within.

Why Choose Yoga Above All Other Available Systems…

Everything that human beings do is in essence an expression of who they are. Someone singing a song… someone dancing, someone writing a book, someone painting a picture – whatever else they do, is an expression of who they are. They may be conscious of it or they may be unconscious of it but still, everything that they say, everything that they do, everything that comes out of them is an expression of who they are.

yoga is diametrically opposite to this. it is not an expression of who you are; it is about determining who you are. It’s about determining what you want to be, changing the very fundamentals of one’s existence.

There is current scientific research showing the very fundamentals of the brain’s activity, inner chemistry, and genetic predispositions can be changed by practicing certain yoga systems

The only further confirmation we needed of this is what can and have experienced but for the skeptics, there is now, scientific evidence to support it.

Yoga aims to change the very material of which we’re made of. as a system, yoga needs much more involvement than any other form of things that we do which are merely an expression of who we are.

If you find full expression through any particular activity, it may also leave you somewhat transformed. If you cook with all your heart, some transformation may happen. Yes, even Taking care of a pet can change your life! If you sing with all your heart, some transformation may happen. If you dance with all your heart, some transformation may happen. But that is only a certain impact that is happening because of absolute involvement in a particular activity. However that activity by nature is an expression of who you are, it is not determining the nature of who you are.

This is not an expression, it is a method, it is a means, it is a technology through which you can change the shape of who you are; literally! You can change the very shape of who you really are right now, that can be transformed because who you are right now as a person is a combination of things – genetic material. before that, the karmic substance that you carry. This lets you chose a certain womb so that genetic material can take form. Once you are born whatever kind of impressions that have gone into you in the form of experiences, situations, thoughts, emotions, relationships, associations, whatever else you have embodied, all these things make you a certain kind of person.

When you say, ‘I am a certain kind of person,’ what you are saying is, ‘I have these kinds of compulsions.’ When you say, ‘I’m this kind of person,’ what you’re saying is, ‘These are the kinds of compulsions that I identify myself with, so I am this kind of a person.’

people often say, ‘I’m a morning person. I’m an evening person.’ So what they mean is, ‘Morning, I cannot wake up in the morning, that means I’m an evening person.’ ‘I can’t stay awake in the evening, so I’m a morning person. The world is being divided into so many ways. It’s merely compulsions.

you set yourself into the process of yoga because you don’t want to be this kind or that kind –  you will be the kind that you’re required to be in a particular moment. If it’s morning, you’re a morning person. If it’s evening you’re a evening person. If you’re not required to be a person, you’re not a person. That is, you become flexible. This flexibility starts with your body. afterwards it should come to every aspect of your life. Your physical structure, your psychological structure, your emotional structure, your karmic structure, everything should become flexible, that it can be whatever it is required to be, it is not stuck being one way or another.
